*the dollar signs are for the prices I encountered. $= 20 USD or less per night, $$=20-40 USD $$$= 40-70 USD $$$$=70+ USD
1. Castle Rock Hostel– Edinburgh, Scotland ($)
worth. every. penny. they offer so many activities (both free and paid, but even the paid ones are less than 20 pounds) and free luggage storage. They also have a well stocked kitchen so making food is definitely possible.
2. Good Morning Solo-Traveler Hostel– Lisbon, Portugal ($$$)
(a mouthful but had such a blast here. I recommend to every person I hear say is going to Lisbon. I talk about it more in my Lisbon post. They offer free luggage storage which is a plus butttt they are up two flights of stairs with no elevator so pack with that in mind! They have a well stocked kitchen available and free breakfast everyday.
3. Generator Paris– Paris, France ($$)
I find this to be one of the cheapest hostels in Paris that is conveniently located and without sacrificing any feelings of safety (although, that’s no reason to be careless and put yourself in compromising/vulnerable situations) They do not offer free luggage storage which is a bummer if you arrive before check-in and as a result have to pay for a storage locker. The Generator has a bar on the ground floor with decent food and drinks in case you don’t feel like leaving (and supposedly a rooftop bar but its never been open the three times I’ve stayed there) but is also less than a three minute walk from a metro stop if you venture out.
4. Little Quarter Hostel– Prague, Czech Republic ($)
It’s a far walk from the central train station so not ideal if you have heavy bags in peak summer weather but still manageable. There’s a bar, that offers food too, just down the street that is a local haunt so prices are cheap. The hostel has a rooftop balcony with a hammock that is suck a nice place to chill and meet people. They also have a well stocked kitchen so you can cook, but the closest grocery store doesn’t have much in the way of food so you’re limited in what can be made. They also offer free luggage storage.
5. Jacobs Inn– Dublin, Ireland ($$$$)
really comfy sleeping arrangements but I don’t think they charge appropriately for their accommodation. I was told by someone renting a bed in my room though that usually its cheaper but they charge more as a method of keeping Ukrainian refugees from renting out all the beds, which I really hope was not the case. In summary, would happily stay here again if they charged less. They have a free luggage storage room with lockers that you can pay for if you want.
