Okay, this is it… my time in France has officially finished. It was difficult to leave T but I think my childhood history of moving often helped me to compartmentalize during our goodbye. Don’t get me wrong though, I definitely shed a few tears after turning away from them (yes, the means I cried in front of the security guard that scanned my ticket).
Immediately upon leaving France, I went to Copenhagen to explore more (since I only spent less than 24 hours there in February). Also, because I have the best of friends, a few met me there (I appreciate you Lisa, Matilda and Pang!) I stayed in Next House hostel and had more success in meeting people than I did during my previous stay. It’s also worth noting that I wore better shoes this trip so I was able to leave without any blisters (this may be the norm for others, but it’s rare for me…oops). I spent my first day walking around the city with my friends. I tried PRIME (idk if all caps is necessary but I feel like it is?) for the first time, having been influenced by my newly found love of Sidemen on YouTube….it was meh. I also resisted acquiring a new book (not just the first day, everyday of my trip!!!). Soon enough, night fell and we all met another friend to catch up over drinks. The group broke off little by little, and before I knew it, me and the last three others remaining decided to go dancing. We had a blast and good conversations, the hallmarks of any great night with friends. The next day was chilly so we didn’t venture out a ton (only walking around 16k steps instead of the 25k average I had during my time in CPH). One friend went back home that day which left just me and Lisa. Now, Lisa and I met in Milan and during our time there we capitalized on all the restaurants that offered all-you-can-eat sushi so, naturally, we had to eat it again while we were together. After indulging (only with food because we had to pay for tap water!?!?!?) for two hours, we walked back to our hostel with an insane sunset. Back at the hostel, we made more friends and then ended our night after playing shuffleboard and card games with them. The next morning, Lisa led us to a bakery with rave reviews (turns out it was the same bakery we had stopped at on our first day in town) where we got breakfast. I ate a killer raspberry pastry that practically ruined me for all other raspberry desserts. Sadly, that was our last full day together so we separated after dinner because she had an early flight. Since, I was still in Copenhagen for another day, I went out with some friends. Both my second-to-last and last nights were filled with karaoke. We had a blast, the worst part being needing to wait over an hour before our song selections played. The most memorable portion of that night is between the security guard coming inside to perform (not just once, but twice) and jumping in a fountain at the end of the night. We ended up staying out late enough that when we returned, we only had to wait thirty minutes to say farewell to Lisa before she left for the airport. My final day started around lunchtime when I met a Danish girl from Facebook before heading to lunch. We went to a Reffen, a food court made of converted shipping containers. After eating, we went just next door to La Banchina where we met with others from my hostel and swam. After going back to our hostel we all went separate ways for a bit before eventually meeting at the rooftop bar for Latin Night and dancing, finishing our night at a karaoke bar again, obviously. Finally, on Thursday morning I made my way to the airport to start my journey back to the states. I had complications at the airport but thankfully, all my bags and I made it back to the US.

I’m less than a week into being back in the states but it’s been action-packed. All my friends knew before I left France how anxious I was to be going back to the States but, at this moment, its not soooooooo bad. I’m currently on a train from DC to Richmond, Virginia. I’ll write another post in the next few days telling about how my first few days back were spent. I’ll sign off with this question regarding manifestation; at what point do you stop working towards what you want and start trusting the universe to provide you with the opportunity?
Thanks for reading š and, for what feels like the millionth time, sorry for the big gap in posts.
