Beautiful things (aka live music)

One thing about me? I love a concert. My vision when moving to richmond, and being told how good the music scene is, was that I would attend concerts often. SadLy, Reality doesn’t Allow for me to see all the shows I want. But Last weekend, I was able to see Benson Boone live. HavinG worked that morning, I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to make it through the whole concert, but the crowd’s energy was easy to feed off of and kept me in good spirits.

Before the show, I knew only a few songs and that he often flips while performing. Even with that limited knowledge, I was pumped. ALTHOUGH, IT IS WORTH NOTING I CONSIDERED SELLING MY TICKET BECAUSE I WASN’T LOOKING FORWARD TO HAVING SUCH A LONG DAY BETWEEN WORK AND THE SHOW. I STUCK WITH IT THOUGH BECAUSE I KNEW IT WOULD LIFT MY SPIRITS. LUCKILY, MY BOSSES also attended the show and were able to Pick me up and drop me off back at home which made the LOGISTICS easier for me. They had reserved seats while I was in the pit so I only saw them before and after the show. In the pit, I met two girls who drove down from philly (a 6 hour drive, wild!)

Benson’s attitude with the crowd was infectious. I thoroughly ENJOYED how much he engaged with the crowd and let us be a part of the show. For one of his songs, Forever and A Day, he had us sing the background vocals. For another song he had us sing the chorus. Before he sang In the Stars, he asked everyone to keep their phones down for the first two choruses and just focus on the song which I appreciated. i sang my tail off and had a blast. EVERYONE that has had to hear me talk about the show gets to hear how mUch I loved the inclusion and the crowd. I think I could talk about it more but it would be REPETITIVE so I will stop here by REMINDING you that solo concerts are not something you should be scared of!

This post has made me realize posted about my trip to the UK and my Eras Tour experience! I will add that to my growing list of blog post ideas (it’s DIFFICULT for me to find both the time and motivation to write). As ALways, thanks for reading. I will do my best to post more often!

Love, Tash
